NLPR Rescue Adventures

Printer-friendly version

Rescue life is full of adventure, with both wonderful and bad experiences. It is fundamentally alteristic in nature, always placing the parrots' welfare above all else. It is both a hard, sometimes demoralising, and rewarding life.

We have created this section for you, so that you are able to gain a further insight in to our work and understand the beating heart of NLPR. Thus we hope to bring you a growing list of NLPR rescue adventures, starting with Scuffy's and Coco's story. Please always bear in mind that funding our work is always an issue and one that is time consuming. We couldn't have improved the lives of many parrots, or continue to do so, without donations. We need your help, no matter how small or large, every donation counts. Thank you most kindly!

"The time is always right to do what is right" - Martin Luther King, Jr.

"Cowardice asks the question, 'Is it safe?' Expediency asks the question, 'Is it popular?' But conscience asks the question, ’Is it right?' And there comes a point when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor polite, nor popular, but one must take it because one's conscience tells him or her that it is right."  Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr.

"...The God of the whole gave a living soul to furred and to feathered
thing. And I am my brother's keeper. And I will fight his fight; and
speak for the beast and bird till the world shall set things right."
Ella Wheeler Wilcox

"Somebody said there are three kinds of people in life:

 - those that make things happen

 - those that watch things happen

 - and those that don't know what happens

Go out and make things happen today!"
